The word Orthodox is a combination of two words, Orthos which means 'true' and Doxos which means 'glory'. Orthodoxy is nothing but True Glory, glorification of the Triune God in the True Way.

The Indian Orthodox Church is a prominent member Of the Oriental Orthodox Church family. The Church traces its origin to St. Thomas the Apostle, who came to India in AD 52 and established the church and suffered martyrdom.
